Matters before specialised tribunals.

Service disputes of central government employees, such as pay, promotion, seniority, disciplinary action and retirement benefits, are generally heard first by the Central Administrative Tribunal, with a further remedy before the High Court.

Before approaching the Tribunal, the employee is generally expected to have used the departmental remedies available, such as a representation or an appeal to the competent authority. The Tribunal's order can then be challenged before the High Court.
